I TOTALLY have trouble with my Cameo too from the Mac. I even spent a ton of time with them trying to work it out. I never figured out what I was doing wrong either. So frustrating! I cannot get the orientation right for the marks either. If you find Cameo for mac dummies, let me know!
I’m sorry your having problems, but feel so much better knowing it’s not my ineptness!!
I may be way off…and I have the Portrait…but….I have to load my paper using the little grid button not the plain jane load button.
Seriously….this took me too much time of googling why my cut and prints didn’t work. fingers crossed it’s that easy for you.
BTW…have you guys considered or tried to get Cathy Zielski on the show. She’s really gotten into hybrid Project life this year. Which is a topic you’ve chatted about often this year too!
She would be a great guest for hybrid tips and ideas. Plus she’s hilarious!
Thanks for entertaining and teaching me on my car rides and ellipitcal workouts!
Julie
I second Julie’s suggestion – I love Cathy. How fun would she be on the show!
Grid button? That’s totally beyond my knowledge of my Cameo! LOL
Aw Wendy you’re so nice. What you wanted to say was . “there is no grid button”.
I checked the pictures of the Cameo and alas there is no grid button on the Cameo just the portrait.
Thanks for helping me do my research….;)
Sorry about the confusion.
Julie
LOL, I really did think I was just clueless about my Cameo, because, well, I’m pretty clueless about my Cameo! Maybe someday my kids will teach me.
The grid button worked for me on my Portrait! Thank you for the help!
Steph – I got the scratch disk error message in PSE12 the other day. (I have not had it with PSCC though)
So I check and my recycle bin was full etc. After clearing that out I’ve not seen the same issue since. I’d had the PC on for a few days so that may not have helped.
New versions always seem to use more resources though, so it’s odd they would deny that is the case!
It’s not a scratch disk error, something totally different. I’ve tried everything you mention, plus uninstalling some programs, and a few other things, but I still get the error. Sometimes I get it right after opening PS
Thanks so much ladies for linking to my PSE review!
It’s actually content aware move – not fill – that means you can move a person in a photo etc.
They’ve had content away healing tool for a couple of versions I think.
Melissa
PS Can you tell I’m commenting as I listen!
Hi
I have been a listener from the start and always enjoy the show. I have never made a digital page but get lots of good ideas from the show,
With the cameo you have to watch out that on the screen on the machine itself that it is set to load with mat and not just media. I had been suffering with the cutting starting up before the sticky part of the mat and then I looked and guess what it was on load media which doesn’t allow for the mat edge.
Thanks for great shows.
Another listener in UK
I discovered that and was super excited, thinking that was the problem, but no, it wasn’t.
It seems to always start cutting more to the right than where the images are, even though it found the registration marks just fine. So frustrating!
Had to chuckle at your comments on designers disappearing when they get more lenses. (not that I’m a designer) I fought going from my “point and pray” to a DSLR because I didn’t want to lose focus on my scrapping. DH bought me a DSLR for Christmas last year and I definitely have been focusing more on photography than scrapping (even more since taking a manual class.) While I get inspired by my photographer friends, I’m really trying to keep the focus on the story and not just pretty pictures.
I just bought a Silhouette and am also on a Mac. I was considering taking a couple of Kerri Bradford’s classes to get jump started and not have to figure it out as I go. Do you know if she’s a mac girl and knows the work arounds for the issues that Steph is referring to?
Thanks again for a great show:)
I have been debating for ages about whether to get the Silhouette Portrait (now) or wait to save up some more for the more expensive, maybe better, Cameo. Your comments made me realise that the Portrait will be fine for me, so I ordered it! I am now looking forward to getting it and learning how to use it – just in time for Christmas!!! Thanks for your help and thanks for the interesting shows.
I picked Afterlight. I’m addicted to it as well.
I wish you could have seen me as you mentioned it and asked who picked it. I sat in my dining room saying, “it was me,” thinking you might here!
Love you ladies!
Good luck K! We love you back!!
I should have known! I love that app great pick!
It was crazy to hear Katie talk about Channel One news. We were supposed to watch it everyday in middle school. My school had some deal with them, they put the broadcast network in the entire school and we were all supposed to watch. The TVs would pop on automagically after lunch so we could watch. Most kids just messed around, but sometimes the teacher would turn off the sound and teach over it. I even remember that Maria Menounos, who now co-hosts Extra, was one of the reporters. Anyway, thanks for the flash back.
